Dorothy Bridgford of Shelby County, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the age of 81.
Born on September 14, 1940, she was the daughter of Curtis Leo and Cecelia Lancaster. She married Rex Bridgford on August 18, 1957 in Wanamaker. She graduated from Franklin Township High School.
She was a school bus driver for Shelby Eastern Schools for over 20 years, where she retired. She sold Avon and was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast. She was a member of the Motor Maids, an all-female motorcycle club, for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and riding motorcycles.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Diana Lutes of Shelbyville, Sheila (Ethan) McDowell of Kill Devil Hills N.C., and Andrew Bridgford of Morristown; grandchildren, Jessie (Brandon) Everhart, Stephanie (Jonathan) Everhart, Gage Bridgford, Shade Bridgford, and Cash Bridgford; great-grandchildren, Kendyll, Avery, Cora, Tessa, Valerie, Eliza, and Coleman; and sister, Laurena Modlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; her parents; her sister, Patricia; and grandsons, Tyler McCormick and Abe Everhart.
