v. 2, 1923 – Oct. 16, 2021 Loving and selfless mom and grandma, of Inver Grove Heights, formerly of South St. Paul and Bloomington. Preceded in death by husband Vern; parents Thomas & Alma (Schultze) Fitzgerald; siblings Marjorie Pawlenty, Richard & Kenneth Fitzgerald. Survived by daughters Patricia Crosby of St. Anthony Village and Marcia (Tom) Lutz of Minnetonka; granddaughters Sarah Crosby (James Stewart), Austine (Tommy) Berry and Jeannine (Katelyn) Weise; 4 great-grandchil-dren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Kathleen was a Twins fan, Crème de Menthe cake baker extraordinaire, whenever it was required to top off any family festivities, and fastest backwards – alphabet-reciter. She worked at Glewwe's from her teens until early retirement. The SSP Police Dept. nicknamed her "The Big Cookie", because they accompanied her to work at 3 am. She was a motorcycle enthusiast and long distance rider who was smitten from the start when Dad showed up for their blind date on a Harley. She joined the Motor Maids, a women's riding club, in 1955. She served two terms as President, organized three of their annual conventions, 2 in Sturgis, SD and another in Rochester, MN and was active in the organization until the end. Wear something blue, her favorite color, to her Celebration of Life on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021. Visitation at 10:00 am at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 149 8th Ave. South, South St. Paul with a Service at 11:00 am. Memorials preferred to Grace Lutheran Church. Please wear a mask.
