18-02-16-18 - Winter on The Coast

This year we combined our monthly Meet n Greet with our annual Winter on the Coast, which made for a full weekend of events. To start our day we made a visit to Barbers Marina to see Bamahendge, Neptune's Fountain, Dinosaurs in the woods and the Lady in the Lake. After making several stops for pictures of these unusual statues at the marina we went to Pirates Cove which is only about 10 miles from the marina. Once at the restaurant we parked in the most solid place there was and spent the next few hours at the cove. Those attending were Filli Fillingim, Karen Johnson, Deborah Stutts, Genevieve Cooke, PJ Thompson, Melissa Turner, Deb Bailey, Alexis Holman, Yvette Quinney, Belinda Kock (with her daughter Maranda), Sharon Morris (with her daughter and husband Richard) and Judith Northington. The Florida ladies attending were Marianne McBride, Jan Watts, Melanie Jandeau, Karrie Spooner, Becky Byers, Joanne Graff, Kathy Sanders and Laurie Alexander along with our Tennessee Motor Maid Beverly Woods. We had a 50/50 drawing which our newest member Alexis Holman sold tickets for; with a little help from our next newest member Yvette Quinney. The winner of the 50/50 drawing was PJ Thompson. While we were there we met two prospects for the southern area; one was Connie from Fairhope which was a friend of Filli's and the other was Rita from Robertsdale which is a friend of Felicia's. We look forward to hearing more from these ladies soon. After lunch some went back to the Marina to find the Lady in the Lake while the others went for a ride. What a wonderful day for a meet and ride.
